Description:
This is not for everyday walnut - it is graded as Superior or Super Prime. Very little if any sapwood on one face, very clean. What we don't mill ourselves, we but from some of the best mills in the country who are renowned for producing world class walnut. Beautiful wood, very rare and getting more so due to the invasive beetles that are gradually wiping them out. We saw veneer grade walnuts logs and have the best walnut around. Walnut log prices have skyrocketed and continue to rise, and I have seen the walnut logs sell for more than I am selling the processed lumber. Right now, top grade walnut is extremely hard and expensive to find so my stock of lumber is erratic. As a matter of fact, in the industry, the formal grade of walnut has been reduced one grade, and is now the same as No. 1 common red oak. Since we are still holding our grade, we are now two grades higher than the national formal high grade FAS walnut. We sometimes get walnut boards from other sources, and it's important to note that the only place we can get walnut at the same quality as ours is from the highest grade walnut producers in the country, and is graded as "Super Premium."
